The new marina boasts most of the newest -- and the greatest variety -- of sportfishing charter boats, and is now home to the newest of the fleets as well as the most popular of the original fleets.
Prices for Mazatlan ocean fishing charters tend to be comparable between the various fleets for either Cruisers or Pangas. If you're looking for a less expensive fishing charter, the fleets based at El Faro sometimes offer bit less expensive Mazatlan sportfishing charters than those at the new marina.

Sophisticated water management has led to Sinaloa's fresh water lakes and freshwater fisheries becoming the finest Bass habitat in the world. The crown jewel of these efforts is Lake El Salto, a scenic watershed and Bass fishing paradise located in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains.
Lake El Salto was formed by the damming of the Elota River in 1986. Covering over 25,000 acres during the rainy season, El Salto is about 20 miles from the coast and approximately 550 feet above sea level. The water of Lake El Salto is crystal clear and the lake has a maximum depth of about 140 feet.
El Salto Lake was originally stocked with Largemouth Florida Bass and, because of the warm Lake El Salto water, El Salto bass fisheries began producing very big and very agressive Bass. The Lake El Salto water temperature averages over 80 degrees Fahrenheit, the perfect temperature for growing the really big Bass and that have made El Salto bass fishing so exciting.
Lake El Salto has thousands of Bass that are easily caught all year-round on a variety of lures, including crankbaits, spinners, and worms.
